Who we are
Alternodes is a web studio based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. For anything privacy-related, write to studio@alternodes.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through the contact form or the order form:
- your name and email address;
- your company name and phone number, if you give them;
- what you tell us about your project, and the options you select.
To stop the forms being abused, the server also derives a keyed, one-way identifier from your network address and uses it to limit how many messages one connection can send. That identifier cannot be turned back into an address without a secret key that never leaves our server, it is not stored with your message, and it is discarded within 24 hours.
As on any website, our hosting platform keeps standard server access logs (network address, time and the page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. These are steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Your details are never used for marketing and are never added to a mailing list.
Where it goes, and for how long
Your message is stored on our server outside the public web space and is deleted automatically 12 months after you send it. A copy is also delivered to our studio inbox so that we can reply; we delete those emails once your enquiry is closed, or sooner if you ask.
We send you one confirmation email when you submit a form. We do not share your details with anyone else, and we do not sell them.
Cookies and tracking
None. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no trackers. Everything on it, fonts and icons included, is served from alternodes.com; your browser is not asked to contact any third party.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Email studio@alternodes.com and we will act on it within 30 days, covering both the server record and our inbox.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
